'Gate To Valhalla"...now in pre-production...mostly cast...however I still need two black actors...to play the mother and father of one of the leads, "Africanus"....your tribe of black elves are under attack by the evil mortals ...and the father brings their son , "Africanus" to a tribe of light elves for safekeeping...I prefer dreads for both the male and female...though this is not a must.

On the weekend of October 4th, I will be filming my next film. We will be shooting on 16mm, and I'm extremely excited and nervous about shooting another film on 16mm. Right now, I'm completing the cast, finding locations and props, working on costumes, and figuring out how to pay for the film's processing and transfer (will be doing a fund raiser in the coming weeks to try to raise some money). I plan to have the film storyboarded this weekend and start finalizing everything this weekend of the 27th.

The film will star April Wren and Cameron Spann as a recently engaged couple during 1969. Cameron's character, Adam, is drafted into the Vietnam War, and the film explores how Adam and April's character, Lori, deal with the situation. I'm very excited to be working with April again and to be working with Cameron for the first time. Cameron did a wonderful job in April's film "What Happened?" which Shendopen produced along with Johnson Thomasson and Cameron Spann. I was unable to be on set for that film, but did have the privilege of editing it. So, I'm excited to finally get to work with Cameron in person.

I'm also very excited about the people I have involved behind the scenes. Austin Haley and Justin Maynard from Little Bo Productions in Tupelo will be helping me shoot the film, and I'm so excited to be working with them again. I'm also very excited to have Kevin Holdiness on board as the composer for the film. Kevin is very talented and recently composed the score for Johnson Thomasson's Zombie films which also starred Cameron Spann. Check them out at www.theblackestdawn.com. The crew will also have Landon Woods and Marianna Prather, Mallory Rikard, and maybe a few others.

I also have Pat Raspberry from the Tupelo Film Commission helping me with Locations and KK Norris from Columbus helping with Costumes. KK owns a vintage clothing store in downtown Columbus, MS called The Attic.

This film will by biggest undertaking to date, and I'm very anxious to get it in the can. Wish us luck!

If you have any clothes that fit the Vietnam era and would be appropriate for people in their young 20's let me know. We definitly might need a few extra pieces of clothing to fill in some gaps.

I'll be posting more updates in the future!

God Bites Man

STORY:

God Bites Man is an original, dramatic, motion picture feature. It is the story of Paul, an ordinary, middle-aged American male. He is divorced and lonely. He has a boring life as an insurance salesman. The story follows him as he talks to his own, personal and irreverent God about life. Through his life lessons he meets his soul mate, Michelle..

CONCEPT:

In my life’s learning I have come to clarify five topics that challenge and burden mankind without true resolve. They fall into these categories:

1. God, Gods, Divinity, Overseeing Force, etc.

2. Soul, reincarnated being, eternal being, etc.

3. Heaven and/or hell, multi-dimensional existence, ethereal or astral dimensions, etc.

4. Self-ownership, self-possession, awakened self-awareness, etc.

5. Angels, demons, extra-dimensional beings, aliens, etc.

Sociologically speaking, mankind has been and continues to be compelled by the aforementioned issues. These five categories of concern have scant or no proof to support them. Strange, given the amount of attention they command in humans. The author proposes to the viewer that the only evidence available to humans lay in their own self-development. This concept of objective self-development was first introduced into the West by G.I. Gurdieff in the early to mid-twentieth century. They were ideas imported by him from practices and knowledge of Sufism, a difficult to define movement manifesting publically in Muslim regions and largely in the Golden Age of Islam. It has since percolated out into known, Western academic forms such as Freudian Psychology, Objectivism of P.D. Ouspensky and Existentialism of Jean-Paul Sarte.
The Author’s principle intent is to suggest and explain something of objective self-development to the viewer. As you will determine from reading this script, this is not the ordinary film presentation. The author is betting that such a unique film product will acquire a niche market and see some reasonable and appropriate profitability.

TECHNICAL and CONSTRUCTIVE CONSIDERATIONS:

God Bites Man will be shot on Kodak 5217, in 35mm 2-perf (Techinoscope) and post in 4K DI. Final output formats will be determined on reaction to initial marketing on YouTube and distribution possibilities determined there from.
The entire presentation is interior dialogue. All of the vocalizations are the thoughts of the characters. Except for the synchronous voice of the characters, Paul-Soul and Michells-Soul, no one else’s lips move with the sound of voice. There is no exterior sound except for the first and last pages of the script. The characters of He-God and She-God are in the same voices as the characters, Paul and Michelle, with only pitch alteration done with digital sound effects. Except for the live action, sync sound of the characters, Paul-Soul and Michelle-Soul, all vocal tracks will be recorded and edited before any picture is shot.
The movie includes computer graphics of principles of physics, aliens and flight. The characters of Paul-Soul and Michelle-Soul appear as simple transparencies and will be shot separately with green screen techniques.
Since the movie is mostly about watching people think, few retakes will have to be made. All of the acting will tend to be simple actions, gestural and facially expressive; in other words, easy and natural. A small, hidden earpiece will be provided to the performers so that they can react accurately to a playback of the previously recorded sound tracks.

CONCLUSION:

I hope that we can create a unique and fascinating product that will command attention and gains for all involved. I have never seen anything like this before. It should stand out and get notice from its unusual form and, it is to be hoped, from the topics it addresses.
