Michael Williams October 5th 2009

Once again, it has been ages since I posted something. So here is a little update: I graduated from USM in May and am finally no longer a student! Feels great to be free from school but is a bit terrifying knowing that I have to make a living now. Fortunately, I had an amazing summer working on several films. I barely had a week free all summer. I worked as an AC in NOLA, El Paso, and in NE MS on a short directed by Johnson Thomasson. It was an awesome experience and am so glad to have been apa… Continue

April Wren Film Completions and Screenings Are Coming My Way...

So, SIX months after filming wrapped for "What Happened Next?", the movie is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Had it not been for the difficulty in finding music, it would have been finished months ago, but that's not a problem anymore and I have complete confidence that my editor (Michael Williams) will have all the final touches finished by this Wednesday! So, needless to say, I am super excited about that. Also, "The Mistake", a short film Michael and I co-wrote and directe… Continue

Doris Anne Beaulieu Ramifications of Homeshooling

Hello, My name is Doris Anne Beaulieu. I have a website-Life’s Ultimate Test dot com-on which you can learn more about my mission to change the face of home schooling. I attended a parochial school as a child in the 1950's. In this Catholic school I was sheltered from the realities of the world around me-from swearing, from public displays of affection, from slang. These are often some of the same things that modern home schooling parents aim to protect their children from. A superior court judg… Continue

Pace Irvin Cross Roads Puppet Project

This weekend I was given permission to come up to the Cross Roads Film Festival and shoot my puppet comedy. Its a mockumentary story about a puppet who interviews people. I want to thank everybody who helped out and also was kind enough to act and be interviewed for the film. The footage I got was great and I am currently trying to finish up the final scenes. I hope to have a trailer up as soon I have all the odds and ends worked out. Continue

Its been a very long time since I've posted anything so I thought I should. Last time I posted I mentioned that I was planning to have my new film Parted finished by January. Well It was pretty much finished in Jan. but I didn't have all all the finishing touches in place until yesterday. Parted will have its world premier at the Crossroads film festival in early April. April Wren 2009 Mag Film Fest

Hello hello! Just wanted to do a quick blog about my experience at the 2009 Magnolia Film Festival a few weeks ago! This was my first film festival to attend as a filmmaker. My film was "What Happened?" and this was the first festival for the film as well as its second public screening. I left for Starkville soon after I finished my classes on Thursday evening. I met Michael, Mallory, and Marianna at the State Theatre, where a small opening reception was held for the filmmakers and their guest… Continue

Chris Echols Movies you need to see but probably haven't...

There are a few films out there that are really groundbreaking, controversial, and eye opening but chances are you haven't had a chance to see them simply because of our geographical location or bad marketing. Theaters around here usually don't show films that push the envelope because the demographics don't show that they'll be making much money. That and the theaters usually tries to avoid a barrage of letters and phone calls after screening a controversial film. Also there are a few that just… Continue

Chris Echols Splice- 2009

I've been keeping up with the upcoming movie "Splice" since it was announced in early 2007. Other than a few promo shots and a list of the cast on IMDB it's been pretty quiet out there. Last week I noticed that IMDB had finally listed the film as being in post production so I went searching for new pictures, a trailer, interviews, anything to get some kind of update but had no luck. Then I had a chance to speak with Ryan Rotten the creator of www.shocktillyoudrop.com. He sat down with Guillermo… Continue
