Once again, it has been ages since I posted something. So here is a little update:
I graduated from USM in May and am finally no longer a student! Feels great to be free from school but is a bit terrifying knowing that I have to make a living now. Fortunately, I had an amazing summer working on several films. I barely had a week free all summer. I worked as an AC in NOLA, El Paso, and in NE MS on a short directed by Johnson Thomasson. It was an awesome experience and am so glad to have been apa…

Its been a very long time since I've posted anything so I thought I should. Last time I posted I mentioned that I was planning to have my new film Parted finished by January. Well It was pretty much finished in Jan. but I didn't have all all the finishing touches in place until yesterday. Parted will have its world premier at the Crossroads film festival in early April. I had to have the finished film and sent to them by this week so I was forced to make all the final changes. So Parted is final…

Parted is nearing completion. Yesterday, we did some much needed ADR, and now the film is really coming together. All the film lacks is a few extra sound elements, the original score by Kevin Holdiness, and final audio tweaking. I hope to have the film finished by the end of January. At the bottom of this post i've added the posters for the film for you to check out. I can't wait to have this film completed so that I can finally see the finished product and be able to start on my next pro…

Well I have about a week left for this semester of school, but right now, school is the last thing on my mind. I had to shoot a short digital film over the Thanksgiving holiday for my special problems credit for USM. It has to be completely edited and turned in thursday. Less than two days from now. I wasn't able to transfer the footage till right now so i'll be staying up late tonight to edit and will be editing all day tomorrow before and after my french classes. This film is a short comedy th…

This week, I synced up the footage from my latest film (The Untitled War Short) this week and have some of the scenes roughly edited. The film is going to have a long post production process to get everything perfect but i hope to have it finished by the end of the year. All the footage turned out and we won't have to do any reshoots so I'm very excited about that!
I'll post a couple of screenshots and keep ya posted on its process. The film is slowly coming together!…

We wrapped principle photography last night. We put in about 26 hours over two days this past weekend to shoot my new film. Everything went really well. We had a few camera hiccups and got a little off schedule on Saturday, but other than a few minor problems, the shoot went really well. The cast and crew was amazing and so much fun to work with. Everyone did a phenomenal job.
I sent the film off to the lab today, so we should see how everything turned out next week!
Thanks to everyone involve…

Its less than a week until we shoot my next film. I'm so very excited but still nervous. This past weekend was amazing. Friday, I went to meet with KK Norris at The Attic Ville in downtown Columbus. KK has graciously provided the period wardrobe for the film, and the costumes are amazing! (visit http://www.myspace.com/atticville ) Later that afternoon, I met the two principle cast members, April Wren and Cameron Spann. We took promo/prop pictures and rehearsed the key scenes.
On Saturday, I gat…

In about a week and half from today, I'll be in Tupelo shooting my next film. I'm so excited about this film. Not only will it be shot on 16mm and hopefully be a good film, I will be making it with some of my favorite people. I'm so excited to be working with my friends who have been working on Shendopen films for a while, but I'm so excited to be working again with Austin Haley, Matt Kimborough, Justin Maynard, and Bronwyn Teague who I met while working on Chasing the White Dragon. Not only do…

On the weekend of October 4th, I will be filming my next film. We will be shooting on 16mm, and I'm extremely excited and nervous about shooting another film on 16mm. Right now, I'm completing the cast, finding locations and props, working on costumes, and figuring out how to pay for the film's processing and transfer (will be doing a fund raiser in the coming weeks to try to raise some money). I plan to have the film storyboarded this weekend and start finalizing everything this weekend of the…

This Thursday, I have to have a proposal for my senior 16mm film finished. I will be shooting this film later this semester and am super excited about it. I decided to renovate a script i wrote about a year ago and planned on shooting on digital. Since I'll be shooting on 16mm, I'm having to condense and stream line the script so it won't be too large of an undertaking and be too expensive to shoot. I'm really happy that I'm shooting this one on film though. Having to stream line the script and…

Well I'm back in Hattiesburg and getting ready for school to start Wednesday. Now that I have access to a Kinko's (which is completely amazing), I'm getting some covers for DVD's printed and some press kits ready to start getting my film
(un)wanted out to festivals. I'm about to submit to a few MS film festivals, and I'm going to go out on a limb and submit to Slamdance. It probably is way out of my league but I'd like to try anyway.
I'm about to start giving away Shendopen Sampler's. It…

I'm so relieved and pleased with how the Indie Film Showcase went this past Thursday. I had no idea how many people would show up, if all the logistics and technical stuff would actually work out, or if people would enjoy it. I'm very happy to say that over 90 people came, and I really think it was an enjoyable experience for the people who attended. The films screened from filmmakers from all over MS really showcased the talent the film community right here in MS has to offer. I want to thank e…

For my basic cinematography class at Southern Miss this past semester, we had to produce our first 16mm film project as the main part of the course. I had a boring, generic script that would be easy to shoot and wouldn't require much effort ready that I had to create for the class that preceded this one. I was wanting to do something really simple and easy because I was convinced that the film I did for the class would not turn out because it would be my first film shot on actual film. I also fe…

Right now, Shendopen has a lot of things in development. My 16mm Film
(un)wanted is finished but waiting for legitimate permission to use the song featured in the film before it is released. Two other Shendopen have just been completed.
Cookies and Milk and
What Happened? were both written and directed by She…
