Its been a very long time since I've posted anything so I thought I should. Last time I posted I mentioned that I was planning to have my new film Parted finished by January. Well It was pretty much finished in Jan. but I didn't have all all the finishing touches in place until yesterday. Parted will have its world premier at the Crossroads film festival in early April. I had to have the finished film and sent to them by this week so I was forced to make all the final changes. So Parted is finally finished and ready for the festival circuit.
Apart from that film, Shendopen has been very busy since the last time I blogged. (un)wanted participated in the Oxford Film Festival then again at the Magnolia Film Festival along with April Wren's What Happened? which won the best student film award. That was the first award a Shendopen film has ever received. Just this past weekend, April and I found out that we will be screening 4 shendopen films in at this year's Crossroads film festival. We are very excited. The films include Parted, (un)wanted, What Happened? and Cookies and Milk.
Other than Crossroads, the only other thing I have going right now apart from school (which i'm dying to be done with) is editing April's film What Happened Next? and promoting Parted. Oh and i'm also working on a small film showcase for the University of Southern Mississippi's film Department. The one night festival will showcase films made by the film students here at USM. The event is scheduled for May 1st at 7pm on the campus of USM in Hattiesburg. I'll be sure to provide more information later.
By the way, my friend Johnson Thomasson is preparing for his next film project. If you'd like to know more about the project and would like to help support him (and if you have a facebook account) join his facebook group,
